Oh. Em. Gee.

I can’t tell you how many times “Ohmigawd!” came out of my mouth last night.  They started out good.  Like when Endy was 3 for 3 in the third inning.  They then turned horribly horribly bad.  I turned it off when Wagner gave up an extra base hit to Victorino.  I couldn’t watch it if they were about to lose.  And it wasn’t one of those games I would be upset to wake up in the morning to find out they won.  Well I didn’t have to wait until morning.  As soon as the game was over I get a phone call from my mom recapping the whole inning.  Wagner no brownies for you!  One close call was enough within two days thankyouverymuch!

On another note, I’m thinking about adding a Jerry Manuel ejection tally in the sidebar.  It’s been what? 3 weeks? and he’s already been ejected 3 times.  Is he trying to make up for Willie’s lack of ejections?

Hey front office…

You know what would have been an even better way to go about firing Willie?  Honoring him at Shea Stadium with “Willie Randolph Day” after a multi-game winning streak.  His wife and kids can throw out the ceremonial first pitch.  They can play a video homage to him with a video starting with his greatest moments with the Mets and ending with his worst.  This, of course, would be followed with Omar making a statement to the bloated number of fans announced at the game that Willie is no longer the manager of the New York Mets.  Then suddenly the dart board with Willie’s face on it that was given out to the first 25,000 fans makes so much more sense.

Seriously, could they have gone about this any worse??

Out with the old, in with the new

Oh wait… that’s not right. Mets philosophy is out with the new in with the really freakin’ old.  It looks like Alou could be back in the lineup this weekend.  I loved Alou (when he was actually playing) last year.  But that was last year.  This year I love Pagan.  I love to watch this kid play.  I love the energy he brings to the game. Most importantly, I love the Angel wave!

This year I fear that the Alou of 2008 will be the Franco of 2007.  That is a horrific thought.  Someone tell me I’m crazy.  I’m being overly pessimistic.  I won’t believe you but you should tell me anyway.
